Memories with Grandpa
Somewhere near the shore is a spot where we cast.
It’s halfway in the middle of my future and his past.
Memories reside there – where we always sit and wait.
Where we set our fishing poles with the perfect kind of bait.
But the bait doesn’t matter, and neither do the poles.
We cast with our hearts and fish with our souls.
And if the day passes without a single bite,
Grandpa assures me – disappointments are all right.
When we head off the water as the sun starts to set,
We walk away with memories – the kinds we don’t forget.
Daddy Hold My Hand
Hold my hand Daddy and watch me grow,
Give me your wisdom and all that you know.
Show me what it’s like to care,
How it feels to love and what it means to share.
Reach out to me and take my hand,
Teach me to walk, but first how to stand.
Help me learn all the simple things,
Teach me to fly without any wings.
Give me love and help me learn,
How to be patient and wait my turn.
With you as my guide I can open new doors,
And it all starts with my hand in yours.
The World Is Waiting
The world has sunsets
That have never been seen
And a plan for those
Brave enough to dream.
The world has a thirst
For those who believe,
With wisdom and courage
They will succeed.
The world has a future
With wide open doors,
For thinkers and dreamers,
With ideas like yours.
The world is waiting for something that's new,
The world is ready…
waiting…for you.
